You know you have good friends when they want to hang out and play with your kids all day long. My girlfriends Heidi and Katie came up from the city to watch my kids an entire day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., so I could attend some important meetings. And I didn't even have to ask--they offered. It was a treat for Stella and Lucas.

My spending diet may have to have a small splurge. Yes. I have come to agree that I must, absolutely, matter-of-factly need to have new houseware items. Because Orla Kiely is coming to Target. Well, not her personally but her fabulous designs.

Potty Training--it's the parenting responsibility that I avoid and most dislike. When I think about potty training the words that come into my head are: frustration, fear, crying, cleaning up, more crying, persuasion, home bound, mistakes, disappointment, convincing, tantrums, more cleaning up, rewards. But once the child gets it and knows how to do it, it's most rewarding for both the parent and the child. We are almost there...almost.

A few months ago for Family Home Evening, the kids drew pictures for missionaries that we know, and I mailed them off. Well, one of the moms of a missionary in Japan sent me this picture of her son's display wall in his apartment. And what do you know? One of his cherished possessions is Stella's picture of his green body and yellow head. When I showed her, it put a big smile on her face.
When I buy designer jeans, the length is usually too long. And I'm not too short. So, it's either wear high heels or fold them up. I'm too lazy to get the length altered. My sister, who is really short, has to get them altered so she posted the way she hems them.

Don't you love getting packages in the mail? Well, I finally got a long-waited package in the mail from my girlfriend who lives in Brazil. It took about five weeks to get here. We thought it was a goner. She sent it ground. The whole package was covered in Brazilian stamps. It was fun and exciting to open up simply because it was foreign, came from a different country and covered in stamps.
I was attending the Sundance Film Festival. January means Sundance. When I lived in Salt Lake we would attend minimum of four films. A small number, but it was always so much fun every time we went. My favorite part was meeting the film's cast and directors after the viewing.

It's cold outside!! Seriously, I'm typing away and my fingers are freezing. And the strange thing is is that our house is really warm. Maybe it's because I'm a cold person. I'm sitting here with three layers on and a warm sweater. Socks and slippers. It's only going to get colder, and I'm dreaming of warmer weather.
A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of watching Stella's dance class. Seth even got off work to attend. All the dancers were adorable. It was cute watching each girl and their interpretation of the teacher's move. Stella had a moment of shyness when her teacher put her on the spot. Instead of doing the move she walked off the dance floor and hid behind me. Very unlike her. With a little persuasion of an ice cream stop, she was back in action.

I like to listen to music while I cook dinner. My recent music choice? The Ting Tings. Yeah, you can say that I've been getting my groove on while stirring the pasta or chopping the vegetables especially when I hear "That's Not My Name".

I'm still trying to figure out which kids will share a room together. Stella and Lucas. Or Lucas and Jackson. Keep the room all boy or have a gender-neutral room. And I'm in the market to find a big-boy bed for Lucas. With that said, I'm looking for either a trundle bed or a bunk bed because before I know it Jackson will need a bed. Might as well get it now instead of later. Anyway, I really like Sunrise Ruffalo's gender-neutral room that her daughter and son share.
Mutze is having a hat/bootie set giveaway on Simply Healthful. I'm a HUGE fan of Mutze Hats. I wears them. My kids wears them. My husband wears them. Leave a comment here to enter the giveaway. And if you don't have a baby, this is a great gift set. I should know because I just had a baby and would love it! Oh, ps--check out Mutze's Bavarian hat styles. My favorite!

Walmart has a baby brand called BabyMod that carries modern furniture and bedding designs. I saw this cute nursery on Ohdeedoh that is furnished in BabyMod. I love the crib bedding, but unfortunately it's all sold out. I'm thinking about buying another BabyMod crib set for Jackson, but I don't know anything about the quality. Has anyone tried it out? I just want a new look in our nursery.

I'm a big herbal tea drinker and like to have a warm cup of herbs in the morning. I found a little tea shop called T-Party near my home that has loose leaf tea so you can make your own flavor. They have afternoon tea parties everyday. How fun! And they say herbal tea is not even a tea but an herbal infusion since it has no caffeine.

I have a super hero who saves me from completely falling apart. He has become very handy in time of need especially very recently. And, of course saves my day. I bat my eyes in appreciation. I feel so lucky to have a super hero who will take the time and play barbies and dolls, change dirty diapers, cook dinner, work with his hands around the house and complete his "honey-do" list, spend a whole day ALONE entertaining two rambunctious kids then bathing and reading and putting those two rambunctious kids to bed. Of course the list goes on with too many to count. But I do REALLY like my super hero.
(This is Lucas's batman costume that my girlfriend Alison made for him for Christmas. As you can tell we've been having a lot of fun with it.)
I love all the little Spanish details in this wedding that I saw on Snippet and Ink. Actually I love the designs of Amorology who planned the wedding. I've blogged about it before, but if I was going to get married again, I'd hire them in a heart beat.

Happy New Year from Lucas the Tiger and Stella the Butterfly. To celebrate they got their face painted at one of the local town's First Night. Lucas ran around the place roaring at people and Stella flapping her arms. It was pretty hilarious. And here's to our New Year kiss!

Bad news for those who have blogs on Blogger and are planning to make their blog into a book--Blurb no longer supports slurping Blogger. Over the holiday break I was determine to catch up and finally get my blog archives into a book. I was excited to test out Blurb's slurping action, but it all came to a halt when I came to the part that Blurb is not compatible with Blogger anymore. Total bummer! Read about it here. So, this means it's copy and paste unless there is some other blog to book company. I'd suggest to start this year's book now and add to it every month.
