Stripey Barber Straws
Vintage barber drinking straws are so pretty in a drink--it makes it almost irresistible. But you won't find them at your local party store. They are hard to find, but here are a few resources I found:

A Princess Bakes
By Stella
Once upon a time there was a princess
and she was baking a pie.
She looked in her
cook book. The ingredients:
pie crust, sliced and peeled apples,
She waited for her prince. Surprise!
(last week was winter break, so an inside activity was writing books)

Guess Where?
Seriously I'm not that obsessed with target (sorry for another post). But they always got the goods. And I can't believe you can these furniture pieces there.

The Lotus light fixture is a Viva Terra piece, and now you can get it at Target. I love that piece especially after I saw it in this Design Sponge house tour.

Workout Clothing
Many of my fitness friends ask me where I get some of my workout attire. Workout clothes are hard to find unless you know where to look. And before I was introduced to some great workout clothing lines by my instructor, I was wearing those old navy tanks that would shrink and fade in the wash and that would permanently smell of b.o. I think if you workout on a consistent basis, whether that be outside sports or inside a gym, it's good to put a little investment into your clothing. Because workout clothes definitely go through a lot--with sweat, frequent washs, etc. And when you workout (especially in a gym), you want to be comfortable and lookin' good. Here are a few of my favorite lines. I have pieces from each line and wear them often:
KOS*USA clothing--their pants are my favorite. They fit really well. The black fabric hold it's color through weekly washes. The criss cross top is really cute and holds everything in place (runs small).
OH MY BOD--their website is not the best but their pieces are very well made. They have some of the best cami sport bras. I wear them all the time under my workout tops.
Couture Active Wear--this line brings streetwear to active wear. All the pieces are very fashionable. A lot of the pants have belts or detailing on the back. The tulip halter top is one of my favorite.

Things I Like
I'm slowly liking Lonny magazine. It's a little hard digesting the material in each issue, but I do like how items are linked to websites for quick easy finds. A few things I saw in this issue that I like are:

Valentine's Cards
We had a snow day yesterday, so the kids got busy working on Valentine's cards. I gave Miss Stella a stack of blank cards and scrapbooking embellishments, and she decorated all 24 cards beautifully and with detail. Mr. Luke, on the other hand, puts up a fight if an art project takes longer than five minutes. What to do? I saw this card idea from a few different websites and thought it was a cute and minimal work for him but still keeps him involved. With posing for the picture and filling the candy bags, he was also happy to trace his name on all 13 cards. The font name is Trace and can be downloaded here.

Oh Marie!
There are some movies you could watch over and over again and this is definitely one on my list. I thought this picture was appropriate for Love day coming up. Perhaps you could persuade your man to give you a nice foot massage and feed you chocolate.

Red Kitchen
Pretty red kitchen. I'm not a fan of red walls. When I enter a red room I get tense and feel like I'm going to exploded with anger. Funny how colors have an affect on us. But the red in this kitchen doesn't seem overpowering at all.

Sweet Notes
Last Monday the kiddos decorated Valentine mailboxes, and we've been having fun leaving sweet notes for each other every day. Some of the notes are pictures, thoughts, thank yous or simple i love yous. Either way it always leaves a smile or two. Even daddy has gotten in on the fun. Actually his notes are the favorites.

Paper Wreaths
These beautifully handmade paper wreaths remind me of the Macy's Flower Show last spring. A little bit of sunshine for a dreary winter day.

Butler's Desk Collection
Amy Butler has a new line, and it's not fabric but office supplies. Good way to get us organized with pretty florals and colorful prints in filing folders and stationary. Another way to make your life beautiful.
